After having such a successful year last year, Volunteers for the TELUS Walk to cure diabetes is hoping to do the same this Saturday.
One of the volunteer organizers of the JDRF Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes, Karey Wilkinson says last year they had 180 participants and raised over $20,000 and they are hoping to do that again.
Wilkinson says the communities support for the walk is amazing.
"Because diabetes is a growing epidemic, it's nice to have that much support from the community from the families to the friends because chances are, everybody knows somebody affected by diabetes or living with diabetes."
It will go on rain or shine.
Registration is at 10:30am, walk is at 11am this Saturday at Vermillion Park.
