Are you a fan of The Amazing Race and have always wanted to participate?
Well, you're in luck. Shawn Sarkonak at the Countryfest Community Cinema recently announced that the Amazing Race Dauphin will take place later this month.
"A group of us here at the CCC sat down and brainstormed what it could look like," said Sarkonak. "We thought it would be a great way to revitalize people coming to the cinema. We wanted to do a fun-filled movie-style challenge fundraiser."
If you think you have what it takes to race, get yourself a partner and get ready to race. Only 10 teams will be accepted and to be in consideration, you and your partner must submit a video telling organizers why you should get one of the team spots.
"It will be one day and those 10 teams will go in 10 different challenges around the city and outside of it as well looking for clues and going through movie-inspired challenges," said Sarkonak.
It's $250 per contestant which means your team entry will be $500. Your team is also encouraged to raise money and the team that raises the most will win a great prize, to be announced at a later date.
The real question is, do you have what it takes to conquer the Amazing Race Dauphin?
"The winning team will have the ultimate bragging rights," ended Sarkonak. "It's a way to get into the community and learn more about it. It's going to be a ton of fun and you'll also be supporting the cinema, so it's a win-win."
