The City of Dauphin is going to be increasing its roads repair budget after a rough winter.
Despite the warm weather, this winter has wreaked havoc on Dauphin's roads, something public works director Bill Brenner can't figure out.
CAO Brad Collett told city council yesterday crews have been fixing potholes and have already used more patching material than usual.
The city will hold its public budget hearing next week. Pavement repair is proposed to go up 23 per cent over last year, with the overall roads and street repair budget also set to increase.
Both Brenner and Collett said at yesterday's council meeting the road issues caused over the winter are province-wide.
