Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation says if you still have not signed up for Agri-Insurance, now is the time to do it.
MASC Insurance Agent Lori Michaleski spoke today about the changes to this year's farm insurance packages at Farm Outlook.
She says, this year, farmers are going to be able to get more for less.
"Our dollar values have increased an average of 5%. Our probable yields have increased an average of 2%, so they are definitely going to be higher coverage for lower cost."
Michaleski says, thanks to the always unpredictable nature of Canadian weather, getting proper farm coverage is a must.
"The weather is so volatile, you never know what's coming. We also offer continuous hail insurance option that producers can take effect of too. That cuts down on paperwork, and it's at a discounted cost."
The deadline to get signed up for Agri-Insurance is March 31.
