Pedestrians will have an easier time crossing Main Street at Fourth Avenue North with the installation of a signaled crosswalk.
City of Dauphin CAO Brad Collett says what's known as the Canada Post corner will get a new pedestrian corridor with lit crosswalk signals.
"A traffic study was done by Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation and it met the minimum requirements for a signalized or lit crosswalk, and the public has also been asking for a lit crosswalk in that location."
He says that area is certainly one of concern.
Collett says the crosswalk will not cost the city anything, and will be installed during the province's 2016/17 fiscal year.
