The Dauphin Clippers split their two round-robin games playing in the Piper Classic Tournament of Champions in Winnipeg.
In their first game, the Clippers hammered Beaver Brae, 7-0. Ethan Carnegie led the way for Dauphin with a hat-trick while Ethan Zalischuk, Jaxon Bodnar, Josh Yakielashek, and Julien Lopez also scored for Dauphin. Ethan Myhre was outstanding as he earned the shutout.
In their second game, Dauphin came up short against a very good River East Kodiaks team. They'll continue play on Saturday morning.
On the hardcourt, it was domination from start to finish for the Dauphin Clippers varsity boys basketball team as they beat Westgate, 93-63, to advance to the semi-finals at the Big Cat tournament in Sanford.
The Ste. Rose Celtics varsity boys basketball team has advanced to the consolation final at the MacGregor tournament.
After losing against the host Mustangs in their first game, the team led by Nathan Zadorozny responded with at outstanding effort and a 16 point win over Westpark. They'll play in the consolation final on Saturday.
