The Sifton and Dauphin Fire Department were dispatched to a fire involving grass, brush and several structures two miles south of Sifton this morning at around 2:30.
A barn and at least five other small outbuildings were lost, and the fire covered approximately 20 acres of grass, field, and brush.
The fire was lit in the ditch north of the property along Road 160N, and it spread rapidly to the yard side and buildings involved.
The owner had some agricultural equipment in some of the outbuildings, which was lost to the fire.
Crews from both departments remained on scene until shortly after 6:00 a.m. to ensure there was no risk of reignition.
