A man who installed solar panels to save on the rising cost of hydro, got more than he bargained for.
Jarrod Chamberlin, from the R.M. of De Salaberry, just 30 minutes south of Winnipeg, said solar panels produced under 50% of the power needed in his home.
When he received credits on his hydro bill back in the fall, totaling over $900, he questioned it.
MB Hydro then issued a bill for over $1400.
Chamberlin is asking Hydro to pay for half, as part of their responsibility for the mistake.
