Members of the co-operative, voted in favour of changing the status for the bowling alley.
Blake Price, the chairman of the board of directors talks about why the board made the decision to change the structure.
“So rather than wasting a lot of time and energy in trying to get the co-operative back on track, it was a decision made by the board of directors to move from a co-operative to a non-for profit organization. That’s what the meeting was about, just to get the shareholders’ approval.”
Heartland lanes can now go after more funding grants and can issue tax receipts for donations.
