2017 recorded one of the lightest hail claim years in 8 years.
The lack of moisture across the prairies meant little storm activity. David Koroscil manager of claim service with MASC talks about the claims his company received in the Parkland.
“We have offices in Swan River, Dauphin, and Grandview which covers [the Parkland] area. Relatively quiet in that region, just about 100 claims in total through our organization. About a half a million dollars in damage.”
The Canadian Crop Hail Association 2017 report showed Manitoba received the most hail damage with a loss ratio of 45.9%. That number is far below last year’s record which was 158.9%
