Parkland farmers are encouraged to apply for Manitoba Chicken Producers new quota allotment.

The application process begins next Tuesday for 6 new quota allotments of 30 thousand kilograms each. Wayne Hiltz, Executive Director of Manitoba chicken talks about why this is a great opportunity to expand your business.

“Without the quota, the most chicken’s you can grow is 999 per year. In this situation, with a quota allotment, you would grow approximately 230 to 240 thousand kilograms which is 120 thousand chickens a year. So it is significant the amount of chicken you can grow with a quota verses if you do not have a quota."

The application deadline is noon on November 3rd. For a complete list of requirements and registration forms go to chicken.mb.ca/quota-application/
