This week is School Support Staff Recognition Week across Manitoba.
It runs from Monday until the 29th and recognized the important role school support staff plays in the education of Parkland Students.
Minister of Education and Training Ian Wishart says, “It is our hope that the observance of School Support Staff Recognition Week in Manitoba will provide educators, parents and community members with many opportunities to thank school support staff for the valuable role that they play in schools, and in the education of our students.”
The Minister also says this week is intended to “increase public awareness of the many services and contributions that support staff make to students and schools. It provides an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge their valuable work as they dedicate themselves to supporting the education of Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in our province.”
The week acknowledges those who provide clerical support to teachers and administrators, custodial, utility work, bus children to and from school, among other duties to help run a successful school.
