With the provincial government still trying to get their message out regarding why the proposed changes to EMS is a good thing, concerns are still being raised from residents. Westman municipal leaders came together earlier this week in Brandon to get the facts about the changes. The meeting received mixed reviews from those who attended. Government officials at the meeting were able to provide an overview of the new system but were unable to give details about how it would impact individual communities.
The provincial government announced at the beginning of the summer that 23 low-call volume rural EMS Stations would be closing with 4 new strategically placed stations planned for construction that would provide 24-7 coverage.
