This weekend a Raku Pottery workshop is being hosted by the Dauphin Pottery and Ceramics Club at the Watson Art Centre.
The workshop is held on September 9, 22 and 23.
Artist, Mike Spencer, talks about how he got in this style of pottery and what people who participate in this course can expect.
“I went to art school and took some ceramics classes and I was sort of drawn to it, quite impatient. There is a sense of immediacy with Raku Pottery, which is really cool. It’s very interesting, especially for people who haven’t done any kind of pottery before. They get to see the whole process of how pottery happens. From a big handful of clay to a finished glazed piece.”
The cost of the workshop is $80 with all supplies included and to register call the Watson Arts Centre at 204-638-6231.
