Four new cases of PED Virus have cropped up in the province.
There are now 66 confirmed cases of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus in Manitoba.
Two of the new cases are from batch-farrow sow operations with some staff linkages. These are new cases of PED and thus are considered to be a higher risk.
Two other cases are feeder operations that received pigs from previously infected locations. This is where the pigs appeared to have fully recovered. After being moved the pigs quickly began shedding again. The risk to neighboring farms is believed to be low.
