A Manitoba Man is facing fines and the possible loss of his truck after driving in the wrong lane entering a U.S. Border Port.
On August 11th around 3 pm, the 58-year-old from Benyks Point located north of Toutes Aides didn’t stop for a customs inspection, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say. He was intoxicated and driving into oncoming traffic. The incident happened at the International Falls Minnesota port of entry. Border agents followed the man for almost a kilometer south of the port until he finally stopped.
The man faces a fine for port running of between 5 and 10 thousand American dollars as well as a possible permanent seizure of his truck. Border officials say he might also face criminal prosecution.
