The Manitoba Beef Forage Initiative is holding their Brookdale Summer Pasture Tour on August 30th.
The tour and demonstrations begin at 9:30 on the MBFI Brookdale Farm Corner of Highway number 10 and highway number 353 north of Brandon.
Pam Iwanchysko, Livestock specialist with Manitoba Agriculture, gives people an idea of what they can see and learn when they visit the farm.
“What we are really focusing on is the forage and livestock aspects of the farms,” notes Iwanchysko. “We are going to be focusing on a pasture research trial done actually in charge of where we are looking at comparing a continuous grazing system to what we call a planned grazing system where we are moving the cows regularly throughout the paddocks within that pasture.”
