Brandon University is offering 1st-year courses in Dauphin for the upcoming school year.
Students interested in arts and sciences can attend classes such as psychology to native studies to Canadian Lit. Valerie McInnes, program director for the Dauphin Satellite campus for Brandon University talks about why she thinks taking first-year courses in Dauphin is a good thing.
“Having the opportunity to stay home and take that first year and get it under our belt before you move away from home. I think is going to be a real benefit. Students from the rural areas, especially, who may not be ready to enter what we may not see as the big city, but for them might be a big city of Brandon to join the university there. So this is a real good way of easing yourself in and just making sure this is what you want to do.”
