The Roblin Economic Development Marketing Grant Program is an initiative to help grow tourism by assisting the promotion of community events, assets and economic resources in partnership with local organizations.
The R-E-D contributes up to 50% of the total marketing project costs matched by the applicant dollars to a maximum of $1 thousand dollars per project and in the case of projects that have partnerships of two or more applicants, they can receive up to a maximum of $2 thousand dollars in matching funds.
Roblin Economic Development Officer, Ben Brodeur, provides details on the how the grant was developed.
"It was established in 2015 and the idea had come from, in our "not for profit area" and our "visitor tourism" based area there has always been a strong inclination or encouragement for us to do more promotion regarding tourism."
Approved projects must be started within 3 months of the project's acceptance and completed within 6 months.
