Richardson Pioneer in Swan River is expanding their capacity to 15 thousand metric tonnes.
This will double their capacity of what it was before. Gerald Bryson, Senior Director of Zone 5 at Richardson International speaks about why the Pioneer has begun making this change.
“A couple of reasons, the productivity in the Swan Valley continues to increase, and crops like soybeans coming in and becoming prominent in the market place means you need more separation. So you know, if you were prominently wheat and canola that was one thing. But when you add a major crop like soybeans in there; you do need more separation and more storage.”
The Pioneer is also adding a soybean processing facility and will begin construction soon.
