Renewable energy is a growing alternative to the ever rising cost of Hydro.
Farmers across Manitoba have begun looking into cheaper alternatives. Wayne Digby, Secretary Treasurer of Manitoba sustainable energy association, speaks about why this is the case.
“Probably the most immediate reason that most farmers will be looking at is, as they see increasing energy costs from conventional energies they are going to look to other ways to reduce that energy bill. The most important reason for all of society including the farm sector is we need to be finding ways to be decreasing our carbon footprint.”
With large spaces that can fit instillations along with the rising cost of hydro, solar instillations are the most popular source of sustainable energy for farmers.
