Parks Day is taking place this Saturday across Canada.
In Riding Mounting National Park the day is full of different events from hiking to Grey Owl’s Cabin, a learn to fish program, a Learn to camp program, and a Twilight Bio-blitz focusing on the Bats of Riding Mountain. Cal Martin, the acting visitor experience manager at the park, talks about experiencing what the park has to offer on Parks Day.
“Parks Day is an annual event, and it takes place the third Saturday of July each year. And at Riding Mountain National Park, we’ve been celebrating parks day since 1990. Most of our activates are occurring in and around the Wasagaming area and sort of by the surrounding Clear Lake area. But we encourage people to get out and explore all the different areas of the park, especial this year with the free entry.
The Riding Mountain Film Festival and Buskers will be some of the entertainment at the Park.
