A bill aimed at locating adults with cognitive impairment is currently in the works.
Bill 214 was introduced by Brandon East MLA Len Isleifson earlier in March.
He believes this 'Silver Alert' legislation is an important step in the care of adults with dementia.
According to the Parkland Regional Coordinator for the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba Wanda Sime, the proposed bill will help in addressing specific cases involving someone who may suffer from dementia.
"The longer that a person who has cognitive impairment or dementia is lost, the greater danger is that they will be harmed... it will just allow them to be found in a more efficient quick way."
Bill 214 was debated at a second reading last week.
