The City of Dauphin is applauding the hard work by Public Works & Operations.
Last week Dauphin and the surrounding Parkland area was blanketed by a severe arctic blizzard that delayed travel, caused a number cancellations and for some communities a few days to clear.
Director of Public Works & Operations for the City of Dauphin Bill Brenner feels the situation could have been worse, and had nothing but positives to say about his staff.
"We had a huge amount of snow in a very short period of time, our crews started cleaning up prior to the actual storm quitting because it was building up so badly -- traffic wasn't moving -- we were out very quickly, and within probably about 48 hours cleaned up the entire community... they did a fantastic job, they were out and had the entire thing cleaned up including back lanes by Friday."
In his most recent report, City of Dauphin CAO Brad Collett acknowledged the investments made by the City in addressing snow clearing policy, recognizing a job well done by public works staff towards a successful snow clearing event.
Other topics raised at last night's council meeting was the Downtown Development Committee, 2016 Financial Analysis, and 2016 Public Sector Compensation Disclosure Act.
