Manitoba's premier was in Dauphin this morning to announce upgrades at Mackenzie Middle School.

Premier Greg Selinger, Dauphin MLA Stan Struthers, and some representatives from Mountain View School Division announced the government will be investing in an expansion and renovation of the school's industrial arts and wood working shop.

Selinger says the government wants more career options and academic programming in middle schools and high schools.

It isn't known yet how much the province will be contributing because the project is still at tender.

The Manitoba government is also investing $47,000 for new equipment for the DRCSS' automotive and carpentry programs.
