The Manitoba Beef Producers are joining the cause to help protect species at risk.
On Thursday morning, MBP announced a new project tailored to promote habitat enhancement for species at risk in southwestern Manitoba.
With $750,000 in funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada's Species at Risk Partnerships on Agricultural Lands (SARPAL) initiative, MBP is delivering voluntary, incentive-based habitat enhancement actions with beef producers in areas of southwestern Manitoba to protect important habitats.
According to MBP General Manager Brian Lemon, MBP is happy to help.
"Anytime we can tell the story that the Manitoba beef production and and the Manitoba Beef Producers are part of the solution, that's a good thing."
MBP's project is just one of four projects taking place in Manitoba under SAPRAL.
