Manitoba's Indigenous and Municipal Relations Minister Eileen Clarke believes that the repairs of bridges in Manitoba municipalities could lead to a growth in population.

Minister Clarke made the announcement of $1.9 million dollars being invested into 10 projects across Manitoba on Wednesday.

Stats Canada also released their 2016 Census of Canada's population, showing that Manitoba and Alberta were the highest growing provinces in the country.

Minister Clarke knows that the provinces population is a priority to the government.

"We know that growth in our province is really important, and certainly a priority. Working with our businesses and our municipalities to grow our province is important. Having the opportunity to work with municipalities and highlight what their needs are and ensure them that their communities are the best they can be, that's good for the whole province of Manitoba."

The Road 100W Bridge in the Municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson will be receiving just over $221,000 dollars towards the repairs of their bridge.
