They're under 40, they're a farm family, and Clint Desjardins says he supposes you could say they're aggressive with their cow herd. But he doesn't know why he and his wife Shannon were nominated to be Manitoba's Outstanding Young Farmers.
Clint says he was excited to hear about the nomination.
"(It's) very rewarding to see that people recognize that we are working hard and establishing a good cow herd and trying to do the best we can with what we have."
Clint says they run a commercial herd of 850 black angus cross cows with about 100 open heifers per year to breed.
The Manitoba Outstanding Young Farmers awards banquet runs March 4th at Elkhorn Resort in Onanole. Brent and Kirsty Oswald are also up for the award.
