The City of Dauphin and Riding Mountain National Park are formally working together to raise awareness and tourism to the area.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the city and Parks Canada.
Mayor Eric Irwin says the City of Dauphin 100 per cent backs the development of the park's north end.
"I think our citizens have gone above and beyond in demonstrating that by volunteering to clear the trails for the last few years... that just shows our communities interest in the outdoors and in developing that as a tourist destination."
The memorandum states generally a mutual interest in new products and services, more visitation, more communication between partners and marketing objectives for the north node of Riding Mountain National Park.
