The City of Dauphin's new garbage collection system has taken some people by surprise, with garbage not picked up if recycling isn't out with it.
As well, garbage is now being picked up once every two weeks, on the same day as recycling.
Resident Cheryl Klyne had her garbage left behind yesterday. She believes the summer may be a tough time for her household to deal with the new system.
"I'm just thinking about summertime because I do have a family of six kids and we do go through a lot of garbage, and we do recycle a lot, too, so I don't know how it's going to be. And, like today, I think it's crazy they didn't take the garbage because the recycling wasn't out."
The city has said it wants to work with residents, and wants to pick up garbage.
It is garbage and recycling day 3 today.
