The numbers are in for Manitoba RCMP's third week of their holiday checkstop program. And the numbers are down from last week.

Week three ran from December 20th to the 26th, and a total of 1,733 vehicles were stopped at 40 different checkstops.

Although there was a drop in charges made for impaired driving this week, Media Relations Officer for Manitoba RCMP Tara Seel thinks 18 people is still too many.

"We're out there doing enforcement, and the bottom line is that, one person driving impaired is one too many. To me, it doesn't matter that the number is down from last week, there's still too many people driving impaired."

531 traffic act charges were made during week three, which includes speeding, texting and driving and running a red light.
