Mossey River is under a state of emergency as unformed ice and wind make flooding a concern.
Head of council Kate Basford says they are having an ice event, with wind from the northwest pushing chunks of unformed ice down the Mossey River, causing it to pile up.
"The municipality and our crew at the fire department we have diked the dock because that is a weak point, or that is a point that the water can have access if it was to ever breach."
Basford says they are monitoring the situation. The state of emergency was declared at 7 last night.
