A filmmaker from Ste. Rose has recieved one of the highest honours in the film industry.

Rob Theoret, a videographer and editor with StoryTeller Media & Communication based in Minneapolis, recently received an Emmy for his work on Stories for the Soul: James Chalmers, Marathon Man.

The film was awarded an Emmy in the Public/Current/Community Affairs – Single Story category at the 2016 Upper Midwest Emmy Gala held in Bloomington, Minnesota on October 29.

Theoret says it was exciting just to be nominated.

"You know, we were up against some really stiff competition, so you know we just kind of went to the ceremony not really expecting to win and then you know they read the nominees and all of a sudden they said we won, and then your mind just kind of goes blank after that."

Theoret is an alumnus of Assiniboine Community College in Brandon.
