A major upgrade involving green technology is currently being worked on at the Selo Ukraina.
The project involves the installation of a geothermal heating/cooling system, new ductwork, additional insulation and new exterior metal siding.
President of the Selo Ukraina, Jim Perchaluk feels the new technology will make the facility more comfortable for everyone.
"Basically the fluid in the pipes works in the winter time... it runs through the pipes and brings the warm heat that is stored in the soil in our parking lot area into our hall where it's compressed...the heat is given off and distributed throughout the hall."
DNS Geothermal Ltd from Swan River was hired to provide and install the geothermal heating / cooling system, and Snow Spruce Construction Ltd from the Dauphin area, have been hired to provide additional insulation in the attic and exterior walls.
Final completion is scheduled for spring 2017.
