A member of the Dauphin Family History Group is hoping her success story with DNA testing may sway some others to try it out.
Marylin Muller calls herself a family history buff. She says she had hit a road block trying to prove who her dad's family was. She says she got a kit and tested her dad's DNA, as well as her oldest living male cousin on her grandmother's side.
"The situation on my grandma's side was that we knew my great grandfather's name and his birth date and death date from his tombstone, but we had no information beyond that. And I tried for almost 40 years to look for anybody in the family who might have more information, and eventually through DNA testing was able to connect him back another 300 years or so."
The Dauphin Family History Group is hosting a DNA testing seminar on October 15th.
