After losing its annual federal funding and nearly closing under the last government, Canada is going to be investing in northwestern Ontario's Experimental Lakes Area.
Kenora MP Robert Nault was joined by Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne yesterday to announce the funding.
The Canadian government will be providing $1.7-million over two years. Manitoba will be investing $6-million over six years. Ontario provides $2-million annually.
The Experimental Lakes Area is run by the International Institute for Sustainable Development.
