The 2016 Manitoba First Nation Fire Training and Competition brought in firefighters from all over the province to brush up on their training and to show what they can do in a timed competition.

There were about 90 people in attendance and 11 firefighter teams competed and was put on by the West Region Tribal Council.

Fire Service Officer for West Region Tribal Council, Darcy Clayton Houle says they give first, second, and third place winners.

"The winner turned out to be Cross Lake, second place was Northlands, and third was St Theresa Point."

Houle adds that everybody that was in attendance came from either up north or from south of the province.
