Indigenous firefighters will be coming together this weekend in Dauphin.
Going on today, the West Region Tribal Council is presenting the 2016 Manitoba First Nation Fire Training and Competition.
Fire Service Officer for West Region Tribal Council, Darcy Clayton Houle says the event is to bring both fire departments closer together.
He added, "Dauphin is known for the city of festivals and I wanted to bring it here, bring some revenue in and get that gap between first nations and the community in general that first nations people have their own fire departments in the communities."
The training and competition event is happening behind Credit Union Place.
