Reduced Hours at Ste. Rose Emergency Department
Overnight emergency service at Ste. Rose's hospital is suspended until further notice.
As of this Monday, there are no emergency services in Ste. Rose between 8pm and 8am.
A notice on Prairie Mountain Health's website says ambulance service will continue, and those in need will be taken to the nearest open emergency department.
The notice attributes the suspension to a physician shortage.

Manitoba Budget
Manitoba's new Progressive Conservative government has put forward a budget that contains some tax changes, no major spending cuts and a small dent in the provincial deficit.
The spending plan cuts an existing school tax rebate for middle and high-income senior homeowners.
Senior households earning more than $40,000 a year will see their credit reduced, while those earning more than $63,000 will lose the tax credit altogether.
Premier Brian Pallister says the change ensures the tax help goes to those who need it.
The government is also indexing income tax brackets to the rate of inflation, to bring Manitoba in line with most other provinces.

AMM Prez Wants Pesticide Ban Reversed
The president of the Association of Manitoba Municipalities hopes the new Progressive Conservative government will overturn a ban on cosmetic herbicides.
Steinbach Mayor Chris Goertzen says the products that communities must use now are less effective and more expensive.
He says the cost is not sustainable and municipalities are not as beautiful.
The former NDP government imposed the ban last year.

Fort Mac Residents Begin Heading Back Home Today
Thousands of residents of Fort McMurray, Alberta will get to return to their town today for the first time since fleeing a raging wildfire a month ago.
About 15,000 evacuees will be allowed back in the city at 8am local time in the province's phased-in re-entry plan.
Fire crept into Fort Mac on May 3rd and forced the entire population -- more than 80,000 residents -- to grab their loved ones and get out.
Flames then torched 10 per cent of the city, but crews have been working tirelessly to get critical infrastructure and services back up and running.
Premier Rachel Notley will be in Fort McMurray when the first evacuees return.

Public Invited to CKDM Grand Opening
CKDM has two reasons to celebrate.
This year marks the station's 65th anniversary, and tomorrow is the grand opening of the new building.
We moved to the new building in November, but General manager Allan Truman says tomorrow is the ribbon cutting.
"We want all the good folks from the Parkland, if they can find some time during this busy time of the season to come down... we're going to be offering tours during the day, we've got a shrine of pictures from the past to kind of show how we got to where we are today."
Tomorrow's festivities begin at 1pm.
