One person is dead after falling through the ice and drowning in the Mossey River near Winnipegosis.
The Winnipegosis Fire Department was called around 1:18 on Thursday afternoon.
Once the victim was located in the river, attempts to resuscitate them were unsuccessful and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name, age and gender of the victim was not released.
Winnipegosis Fire Department reminds everyone to exercise extreme caution when on or near any frozen body of water, as the ice is unpredictable and unsafe, especially during spring thaw.
