If you've fished at Dauphin Lake, you'll know what it has to offer.
If you haven't, now's a good time to check it out. FishingBooker, the world's largest platform for booking fishing trips, has been selecting the best fishing spots for five years, and Dauphin Lake has cracked the Top 10 this year.
And the list isn't just spots in Manitoba, it's the Top 10 from coast to coast.
Rod Carberry fishes at Dauphin Lake and provides guided tours and he's not surprised that Dauphin Lake cracked the list.
"It's pretty exciting stuff, I know the Lake is absolutely filled with fish," said Carberry. "The average for a Walleye seems to be around 22 or 23 inches which is great, that's a good-sized Walleye."
The Lake also offers up Pike and the sizes have been reported as positive. Other fish found include Perch, Sauger, and Freshwater Drum
"There's been some 30 and even 40-inch Pikes caught through the ice," continued Carberry. "The overall health of the Lake seems to be doing very well."
So if you're looking to plan a fishing trip, look no further than Dauphin Lake, during the winter or summer.
The Top 10 list includes Lakes in Toronto, Quebec City, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Calgary, Fort Frances, Kingston, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick.
