The Manitoba government has assembled a Trade Council to address the continued threat of trade tariffs.

Premier Kinew Notes that "Our government has been preparing for a Trump administration since day one" and this new trade council will act as a hub of organization among trade sectors.

Representatives from the resource, business, agricultural sectors, and more will join members of the Manitoba government to make the best-informed decisions on international trade.

Many of the members of the U.S. Trade Council were a part of the trade mission the Manitoba government took to Washington, D.C., in April 2024

The trade council builds on the previous announcement of a Manitoba trade office in Washington, which will provide a permanent presence in the American capital and have a direct line to the government.
