This fall, Desiree Dorian and The Northern Pikes will grace the stage at the Watson Art Center, but what if we could have big musicians all year?

Cam Bennet notes that the balcony in Watson gets up to 32 degrees during the hot summer, which is too hot for shows, and he's looking to keep Watson the coolest place in town.

"This has been talked about for countless years, since I've moved to Dauphin. The idea that the watson needs some type of way to cool the building in the summer. Basically, we can only operate 9 and a half months of the year so, we want to make the watson -as you said- the coolest building in town! not that it isn't already, but even cooler, right?"

He aims to raise $12,000 and shave 12 degrees Celsius off the heat during the summer.

"We're just asking for a sort of a little bit more than loose change in your couch type of thing, but we think that $12,000 is an acheivable goal for this community. We know that the Watson is near and dear to a lot of people in the community and we think that by putting in this heat pump technology, we can open for 12 months of the year and we can generate revenue for 12 months of the year"

Donators will be entered into a draw for a concert series set of 4 tickets for next year, and you can find all the details at watsonartcentre.com
