A fun evening for the kids means McCreary School now has hundreds of dollars to use for new gym equipment.
The school held its first ever spring carnival fundraiser yesterday, filling nine areas of the school with fun activities for the kids.
One of the things the school is looking to buy in the near future is a new score clock for the gym, as they still use one with flip cards.
Principal Jennifer Chrisp says they have been raising money for the score clock for a couple of years, but it is no small expense.
"It turns out, it's going to cost about $9,000, so it's a pretty big purchase. We've been working really hard at trying to do some fundraising and trying to get the community involved as possible, and have some fun doing it."
McCreary school will also use some of the money for sports field trips and general equipment needs.
Altogether, the carnival brought in $766.50, and based on turnout, Chrisp says the school might do similar events in the future, or make the carnival an annual thing.
