The RM of Lakeshore says to be cautious about creeping ice, but they don’t think anyone should panic.
Recent strong winds have pushed ice onto some of the shores of Dauphin Lake.
Lakeshore Councillor Clayton Watts is advising people along the Dauphin Lake shore keep an eye out for each other, and to contact the RM if ice is getting a little too close.
“I would just remind people please to keep vigilant, and check on your properties or your neighbours' properties and make sure nothing’s happening. If it is, maybe contact the RM and/or your neighbours themselves. But it’s good, there’s people walking around checking everybody’s place.”
Watts says if the winds stay low, and temperatures above zero, the ice should start to melt and recede. For tonight, winds are only forecast around 10 kilometres per hour with a low of -4. Daily highs will be around eight or nine for the next few days.
