Today marks a milestone for the Metis federation, as they held their ribbon cutting for their second MEDOcare Pharmacy right here in Dauphin.
President David Chartrand was in attendance, beaming with pride at this new expansion of Metis infrastructure.
"We've always had a dream of our first pharmacy in Winnipeg, working hard to make that succesful. Now we're in a comfortable state that that's successful, our people are supporting it, non-metis are supporting it, First Nations are supporting it. We're trying our best to be the best service we can. Dauphin has always been a target, that we were going to be coming this way. All the data showed us and the numbers showed us that this was the right time to make that move."
The MEDOcare pharmacy will offer prescriptions and care to any customers who come by.
It also has a wide variety of products made by metis citizens for sale on location through the Red River Market.
"It's such a proud time for our artisans. We have a lot of great beaders out in this area, and a lot of great artisans that are working on differents products to go out to market."
Stop by throughout the week, as MEDOcare Pharmacy continues their weeklong grand openning.
