In an effort to bring more awareness to Missing and Murdered Aboriginal peoples, this 18 year old is going to run 300 miles.
Kayleen McKay who is a senior at Kildonan Collegiate in Winnipeg will be running from Duck Bay to Winnipeg's Alexander Docks starting on April 30th.

The purpose of the run is to raise money for the Drag The Red group who helped her family search for her cousin who went into the Red River last July.

McKay says she doesn't have an initial fundraising goal, but wants to raise as much money as she can.

"I want to be able to help out with putting a new boat on the water for the Drag The Red group since they helped us. I just want to give back to them because they had no idea who we were and they offered their time and they came out every single day to help us."

McKay says she's hoping this run will bring a lot of awareness.

"I'll be making a statement and hopefully the issue will get addressed or something. Or at least help address the issue. So ill be proud in the end."

She is wanting to run 30 miles a day, as well as stop at each town on her way. She will be making a stop in Dauphin on May 2nd.

She does have a GoFundMe Page set up called Kayleen's run for Drag The Red
