If you were on Twitter Friday night, you may have seen some different tweets being posted by Manitoba RCMP.

This was the first time that they have done this where they tweet all the calls they get to their dispatch center from across Manitoba.

Director of Communications and Media Relations for the Manitoba RCMP, Robert Cyrenne says it's important for people to know how calm operators stay, even in stressful situations.

"These are the men and women that you know are really the first line of who you contact when there is an emergency or police emergency within the province. So it was really important to show Manitobans the type of calls, the frequency of calls that come in and just how professional they respond and how quickly they respond to these very difficult situations."

People were also allowed to tweet them questions. So, they were answering all the questions and tweeting all the dispatch calls.

Cyrenne says that this last year there were over 200,000 calls to the dispatch centre for police assistance here in Manitoba.

They hope do another one like this in six months.
