Charges have been laid after a reported carjacking in Ashern.
On April 10th at 4:40 pm, a 26-year-old male advised the RCMP that a male and two females approached him outside of his house, threatened him with a knife, and stole his keys and vehicle.
The responding officers found the stolen vehicle abandoned but were advised that the suspects were picked up by another vehicle.
The second vehicle was later found at a gas station, where the 3 suspects were arrested. The male suspect became combative, refused to comply, and a conducted energy weapon was used. A search confirmed he had a knife.
RCMP has charged Tyler Abraham, 24, of Winnipeg, with Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Failure to Comply with Release Order Conditions x2.
He was remanded into custody.
Sky McKay, 22, and Kaitlyn Pierreroy, 32, both currently residing in Ashern, were charged with Robbery and later released for court scheduled June 20, 2024, in Lundar.
