UPDATE - 1:31 p.m. Friday, June 09:
The RCMP have confirmed that they found the body of Melinda Lynxleg on the abandoned property they began to search for earlier this week in San Clara.
They also confirmed that they are treating this investigation as a homicide and because of that, no more information will be released at this time.
“The RCMP does not give up on missing people,” said Sergeant Laura LeDrew, a Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services investigator. “More than three years of searching, conducting interviews, collecting evidence. We never stopped. Finding Melinda is an important part of this investigation. She can now go home. But our work is not done.”
Lynxleg had been missing since March 31 of 2020.
If anyone has any information related to this investigation, please call the RCMP Major Crime Services Tip Line at 1-431-489-8110.
